Guru Yoga

Guru Yoga is known as the root of the realizations. Most Tibetan Buddhists do Guru Yoga practice every day at the beginning of their meditation. The practice fosters perception of one's own mind as indivisible from the nature of the Guru's mind. This teaching is on the relationship between teacher and disciple, and how to relate to the practice that involves one's guru. Guru Yoga is also the fourth practice of Ngondro and known as the axle of the vehicle that takes us to enlightenment.

White Tara Empowerment

White Tara has been the main deity practice of many well-known Buddhist scholars and siddhas in both India and Tibet and has been practiced by all four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism. White Tara's special function is to promote long life, strength, and health. She’s pictured as being endowed with seven eyes to symbolize the watchfulness of the compassionate mind. She is also known to Tibetan Buddhists as a protector and Liberator.

Khenpo Karthar Rinpoche was born in 1922 in Eastern Tibet. He entered Thrangu Monastery at the age of twelve, where he underwent many years of training, long retreats, pilgrimages, and philosophical studies and received “Choje Lama” (superior dharma master) title from His Holiness the 16th Karmapa.

Today Rinpoche is the abbot of Karma Triyana Dharmachakra Monastery in Woodstock, New York, and has many western students through out the world.
