Mind training is one of the important instructions in the Kagyu lineage, and traces back to Lord Atisha, who spent 12 years receiving the teachings from Lord Serlingpa. These teachings were passed down to Ja Chekawa Yeshe Dorje, who condensed all of the mind-training instructions into seven points and prepared the text, which is known as The Seven Points of Mind Training.

The Seven Points of Mind Training is essentially - (1) the preliminaries to mind training, (2) training the mind of enlightenment (bodhicitta), (3) transforming adversity into the mind of awakening, (4) applying the practice throughout one's entire life, (5) signs of proficiency in mind training, (6) the commitments of mind training, and (7) precepts of mind training. This is an important foundational teaching that will prepare the practitioners well to receive further instructions such as the unsurpassable Mahamudra.

Danang Benevolence Association has invited Lama Tsultrim, abbot of Karma Thegsum Choling - New Jersey, to present an intensive session on the Seven Points of Mind Training. Besides his wealth of knowledge and experiences, Lama Tsultrim is also known for his ability to present profound teachings in a simple and accessible manner. This is a wonderful opportunity for all.

Lama Tsultrim's Biography
